Eddie Tallon Announces Re-Election Bid
Former SLED agent seeks second term in S.C. House
SPARTANBURG –Republican State Representative Eddie Tallon announced today he will seek re-election to a second term in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
Rep. Tallon serves District 33, which effective with this year’s elections will be entirely within Spartanburg County.
“Serving the people of District 33 for the past two years has been an honor and privilege,” said Rep. Tallon. “I’m excited about the work we are doing, and I’m excited about the direction conservatives are taking our community and our state. We have only scratched the surface on conservative reforms, and I hope the people of Spartanburg County allow me to keep fighting for their values in Columbia.”
Rep. Tallon is a member of the House Judiciary Committee. He also serves as chairman of the House Freshman Caucus, as a majority whip, and as a member of the Public Safety Coordinating Council, and the House Republican Tax Reform Committee.
“Since coming to the House two years ago, Eddie has quickly risen to a position of respect and leadership,” said Majority Leader Kenny Bingham. “His law enforcement experience, conservative viewpoints, and ability to work with anybody in the House give him a strong voice for Spartanburg. The people of Spartanburg County were wise in sending Eddie to the House in 2010. Now it’s time to send him back Columbia for second term.”
Rep. Tallon is a retired agent of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). He is an Air Force veteran and a graduate of both Spartanburg Methodist and Limestone colleges. He is president of The Tallon Group, which specializes in security consulting, audits, and expert testimony on security issues.
Tallon and his wife, Linda, have two grown children.
“Eddie has been a great partner in passing our ambitious conservative Republican agendas over the past two years,” House Speaker Bobby Harrell said. “Spartanburg County did a great job in choosing Eddie to represent them in Columbia, and his leadership is helping move our state in a positive, conservative direction.”
